Orange County Triathlon Road Closure and Detour

The Orange County International Triathlon will be held Sunday, October 10th, 2010. The race will start at 7am and conclude by 10:30am. The race will consist of a 1 mile swim in Lake Mission Viejo, a 25 mile bike beginning on Marguerite Pkwy, north to El Toro Rd and out through Santiago Canyon, and a 10k run, beginning on the Aliso Creek Bike Trail, following various trail systems leading back to the Lake. Temporary road closures will occur resulting in increased travel times for some residents, however, no residents will be “locked in” during any portion of the race. Marguerite Parkway: La Barca to El Toro Rd. {0700-0830 hours}

Marguerite Parkway: Vista del Lago to La Barca {0530-1100 hours}

Los Alisos Blvd: Via Noveno to Entidad {0830-1030 hours}

Olympiad Road: Melinda Rd to Marguerite {0530-1200hours} note: Melinda Rd. to entrance to Lake MV will remain opened to athletes and lake members.

Please note that all intersection crossings (indicated by black dots on the map below) will be closed during the road closures. Additional intersections may incur delays

Access to Vista del Lago is available from Marguerite Parkway and Los Aliso from the South.
